Look Where You’re Going

It is amazing how complicated and cluttered our lives can get.  Seemingly surrounded by the urgent things in life we can easily lose sight of the important things. We have good intentions but as we know, ‘the spirit may be willing but the flesh is weak’.

Christianity is not easy but it actually is quite simple.  It’s all about Jesus.  Our goal is to put Jesus in the middle of everything we do.  In order to centre our life on him we will need to sacrifice other things at times to demonstrate Jesus as the priority.  Having said that, when you love someone, spending time with them isn’t really a sacrifice, it’s a choice you want to make.

How often are you choosing Jesus over other things in your life?

Scripture:

‘Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.’  –  Matthew 6:33

Hebrews 12:2, Psalm 42:1-2, Deuteronomy 6:5, Matthew 4:4

Action Plan:

1) Day of fasting on Wednesday – use your meal times to read Scripture and pray for personal change and a hunger for Jesus.
2) Join us Wednesday, April 6 at 6 pm in the atrium for a light supper, worship and communion celebration.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, help me fix my attention on you and not be swayed by the things around me. Thank you for never giving up on me. Amen
