Investment Strategy
Did you know that the Bible talks about money and possessions more than any other topic? It’s not because money is that important to God, it’s because money can become so important for us. The Bible does not make a case for or against wealth, it does however talk about the place possessions have in our heart and what we do with whatever God has given us.
It is a good idea to regularly consider the possessions in our lives to see if they serve God or we serve them. A re-calibration of our priorities can keep us from becoming consumed by the things we have. The best way to evaluate the importance of our stuff is to try and give some of it away. Generosity will help protect us from losing sight of Jesus and eternal things.
Scripture:
‘Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.’ – Matthew 6:21, Luke 12:15, 1 Timothy 6:10, 1 Peter 4:10, 2 Corinthians 9:7
Action Plan:
1) Consume less this week; go without extra and save the money for a special benevolent offering on Good Friday.
2) Join us for a serve project this Saturday, April 16 at Harbour.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank you for all the good things I enjoy in my life. Help me to be generous like you. May I find true contentment in you. Amen
