Getting to the Root of the Issue
A lot of people claim to believe in God yet how many actually live Jesus centered, Spirit filled lives? It is important that our faith is not simply maintained but abundantly nourished so it can thrive. God has given us all kinds of resources to help us feed our souls; prayer, his Word, other believers, meditation and journaling, just to name a few.
If you want your roots to go deep to keep you strong in the difficult storms of life you will need discipline and spiritual habits. Jesus encourages us to ‘remain in Him’ so we might be spiritually healthy and produce much fruit. Are you ready to go deep in your faith?
Scripture:
‘So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.’ – Colossians 2:6-7, Psalm 1:1-3, 2 Peter 3:18, Philippians 2:12, Jude 1:20
Action Plan:
1) Read Jesus’ prayer in John 17 (just prior to going to the cross) and write down what you see his prayer revealing about his faith.
2) Join us for Good Friday (10 am) & our Easter Sunday service.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins. Help me grow deep in my faith so that I might live boldly for your glory. Amen
